Lake Eola Heights is one of Orlando’s oldest neighborhoods. Its modern history begins with the purchase of about 200 acres of land around the lake in the late 1800s. Much of this land was initially devoted to citrus farming; however, when cold weather destroyed many of the citrus crops in 1895, much of the land was repurposed for housing.
